How to help our classmate improve their english

Good English skill are vital to succeeding in life, in term of career, personal relationship and especially education. As you guys know we are studying in an international environment campus right now but there are some people that didn’t really confident about their English skills. Do you think that learning English is difficult? Well it can be difficult but there are many ways to make your life easier. So what can we do to help improve our classmate English? Here are several fun ways that you might enjoy doing while also helps you to improving your English skills.

1.      Watching Movies
Learning English through movies is an enjoyable and effective strategy to improve your language skills. Don’t stress yourself too much! If you try too hard, it will be frustrating experience to studying the language. Instead, just enjoy the movies you can pause and replay whenever you find something interesting. The subtitles are also a great help and if you are a beginner, you can start with your own language first and then slowly change it into English subtitles. As time goes by you can try watch it without subtitles and you will be amazed at language skills improvement.

2.      Listening to Music
Using English songs is a really great way to improve your English. Since there are so many genre, you can choose the one that you enjoy the most. It doesn’t matter what genre are you listened to, the main purpose is to enjoy while you are learning. You are likely to learn and remember new vocabulary. Beside listening to the song, you can also read the lyric and check if there are any words you don’t know the meaning in dictionary. The most fun thing is you can learn English through music everywhere and anywhere you want. Just put your headphones on and enjoy it!

3.      Increase Confidence using Social Media
Are you shy about your English ability? You can start practice your English online through language exchange, movie forums, twitter, Facebook and all the others form of discussion that are available and increase your confident before anyone sees your face. Of course, nothing can beat speaking English face to face but as you practice it online you can build your confidence while getting yourself ready to speaking English in person with either native English speaker nor friend who is also learning English.

These are several fun ways to improve your English, the important key is to be confident and don’t afraid about making mistakes, you can learn from your mistake so it will help you improve your skills. Don’t give up and always practice your English every day!

Why Our Class is Unique

      When I first came to the class, I was quite surprised by knowing that I have six foreign classmates. Also, it was a bit unusual for me to meet such a bunch of people in the classroom. There are 40 of students in the class, with different characters, hobbies, dreams, interests, and many others deviation. But, that is what makes our class is unique. I found the learning method here is rare, because the lecturer likes to have group discussions and she always gives us ten minutes break in the middle of learning session, and sometimes, I use that time to buy snacks and cold drink in the canteen then, I will enjoy the meal at the class. But before, actually I also feel I'm not too fluent and confident by speaking in English, esp ecially in front of the crowd.
